Whether you travel to Lauterbrunnen by train or by car: in just a few steps from the railway station or the adjacent car park, you can immerse yourself in Tolkien’s wondrous fantasy world from “Lord of the Rings”. The valley station of the Lauterbrunnen-Mürren mountain railway is located opposite the railway station and car park. It brings the guests to Grütschalp. One of the most beautiful trough valleys in the Alps opens up below you with its 72 waterfalls, which Tolkien's landscapes are modelled on. And on the horizon the majestic Jungfrau massif gradually merges with the Mönch and Eiger to form a unique triumvirate. The journey takes a few minutes and reveals why this valley has inspired the great works of a number of other artists besides Tolkien. The Lauterbrunnen-Mürren mountain railway runs every 12 minutes.
