BOB: Zweilütschinen-Grindelwald railway line reopens on Friday

The railway line of the Bernese Oberland Railway (BOB) between Zweilütschinen and Grindelwald will reopen on Friday, 16 August 2024. Thanks to the great commitment and flexibility of everyone involved, the damage to the track and infrastructure caused by the severe weather on Monday evening can be repaired by this Thursday evening. The rail replacement bus service is still in operation today, Thursday.

The repair work on the closed section of the Bernese Oberland Railway (BOB) between Zweilütschinen and Grindelwald included cleaning the flooded track, replacing the ballast that had been washed away from the track bed and stabilising the foundations of the Staldenbach bridge. With the completion of the work this Thursday evening, the line can be used normally again from Friday, 16 August 2024.

Rail replacement bus service continues today, Thursday
