Jungfrau Ski Region accepts Top4 skipass in all sub-areas

In mid-May 2019, it was decided at the Jungfrau Ski Region tariff conference to continue the Top4 skipass without the Mürren-Schilthorn ski area. After talks with the Schilthorn Railway, the partners have reversed their decision and will continue to accept the Top4 subscription in all sub-areas in the winter sports season 2019/2020.

At the tariff conference in mid-May 2019, the association partners of the Jungfrau Ski Region (Jungfrau Railways, Grindelwald-Männlichen aerial gondola, Schilthorn Railway, Wengen-Männlichen aerial cableway, Bumps ski lift, Wengiboden ski lifts, Bodmi double ski lift) decided by a large majority to adjust the validity of the Top4 subscription and to start the upcoming winter sports season without the Mürren-Schilthorn area. They were convinced that they would continue to provide their customers with an attractive offer, especially as a large proportion of winter sports enthusiasts had not made use of the Schilthorn area. Another reason for adjusting the scope was the incompatible offer and price philosophies of the companies, which created no basis for close cooperation.

Swiss Travel Pass on the Schilthorn only partially valid
After discussions with those in charge of the Schilthorn Railway, the commercial differences, especially in terms of the low-price strategy, were resolved by the beginning of June 2019. One consequence of this is that from 1 January 2020, the Schilthorn Railway will no longer accept the Swiss Travel Pass free of charge outside inhabited locations. It is thus following the efforts of the network partners to work against the industry-damaging and market-distorting low prices.

To strengthen the Jungfrau Ski Region as a whole, the Schilthorn Railway will be more actively involved in future on behalf of the entire region and will increasingly support joint market development with the associated partners and support the decisions that have been made. The responsible persons are convinced this is in the best interests of their customers and will promote a successful future for the Jungfrau ski region. An important milestone will be the opening of the V-Cableway project on 14 December 2019, with the new Grindelwald-Männlichen aerial gondola, parts of the terminal and the “Grindelwald Terminal” public transport station of the Bernese Oberland Railway.

Top4 skipass from 1 September
As in the past two seasons, the Top4 skipass will be available in advance for CHF 666. With Adelboden-Lenk, Gstaad, the Jungfrau Ski Region and Meiringen-Hasliberg, all partners will continue to offer their guests the complete range of winter sports.

In the Jungfrau Ski Region, there is only a slight adjustment to the season pass for locals. This is now CHF 480 (basic adult price). Advance sales for the Top4 skipass begin on 1 September 2019.
