At the valley stations of the Schilt and Wixi chairlifts, instead of single lines to the next available space on the chair, there was a careers line. During the approximately 6-minute chairlift ride, numerous winter sports enthusiasts took the opportunity to talk to Jungfrau Railways employees about the various job profiles at Switzerland’s most influential mountain railway company. A conversation that can be the first step towards a new job or career. The professional world of Jungfrau Railways is diverse, with jobs in railway operations, tourism, catering, sales and management, among others.
Last year’s premiere of speed networking on the Wixi chairlift attracted a lot of interest. “It turns out that it’s beneficial to be able to speak directly with employees of our company in an informal atmosphere,” explains Jungfrau Railways Director Urs Kessler. Guests who are already travelling in the region and on the company’s railways were also contacted in this way. True to the motto: came as a guest, stayed as an employee.
