Snow removal work has been running at full speed on the Schynige Platte Railway for weeks now. Due to the particular weather conditions and fresh snowfalls, the start of the summer season has been postponed by one week to Saturday, 4 June 2016.

Simply pay and you're on your way
If you visit Schynige Platte on the opening weekend, then you can take advantage of a special offer. For a return journey from Wilderswil up to the Schynige Platte, guests only pay for the outbound journey on 4 and 5 June. For adults, the price for a return journey at the start of the season is CHF 32.- instead of 64 francs. With a Half Fare Card or GA as well as for children, the return ticket is 16 instead of 32 francs.

Afternoon snack at Schynige Platte
Every day, Schynige Platte invites you to an afternoon snack on the panoramic terrace or in the Berghotel. With the "Teatime Ticket", tea and pastries are included in the rail ticket. The price for this is 48 francs (Half Fare Card, GA and children for CHF 27), and it is available for journeys from Wilderswil between 14:05 and 16:05. You can freely select the time you wish to return.

Schynige Platte Railway
On Tuesday, 14 June 2016, Schynige Platte Railway celebrates its birthday. In honour of this celebration, guests receive a return journey for 25 francs on this day. Children and visitors with GA or Half Fare Card receive the birthday ticket for CHF 12.50.

The Junior and Grandchild Card is valid for all offers.

Alphorn players and Nature Cinema
From the start of the season to 23 October 2016, visitors can expect an interesting tour through the botanical alpine gardens with over 650 types of plants found in the Swiss Alps. Then it's worth a visit to the Nature Cinema with its oversized picture frames, peaceful oases, comfortable seats and glockenspiel. Alphorn players make music each day between 11 AM and 2 PM in front of the Schynige Platte Berghotel. Everyone interested can try alphorn playing for themselves.
