Grindelwald Terminal BOB stop (Rothenegg):
- Continuation of the expansion of the railway operation
- Continuation of shell construction for stair tower Alfa/Chalet Eiger, Mönch & Jungfrau
- Completion of foundations and assembly of steel structure for access to Grindelwald Terminal from Rothenegg roundabout
Terminal building:
- Continuation of backfill of north side building
- Continuation of the interior work (floors, insulation, panel work, electrical, technical facilities, heating, ventilation and sanitary works) in the finished shell construction
- Expansion of the premises for the commissioning of the Männlichen Railway
- Continuation of supply lines and road construction
GGM stations and tricable Eiger Express:
- Conclusion of installation of the aerial cableway technology at the GGM valley station
- Completion of sealing valley station roof and garaging Eiger Express tricable gondola
Car park:
- Continuation of excavation work 2nd stage excavation pit
- Start of concrete work 2nd stage base plate and walls 2nd basement floor
- Continuation of concrete work 1st stage for walls and ceilings 1st basement floor
Eiger Glacier
- Continuation of shell construction/concrete work (floor/walls/ceilings) Eiger Glacier station arrival floor
- Continuation of shell construction/concrete work (floors/walls/ceilings) for the tricable gondola summit station main floor
The WAB material transports between Grund and Salzegg with intermediate storage in the two temporary Salzegg halls will take place in parallel to the normal railway operation of the WAB.
Eiger Express route
- Conclusion of fitting of support column 7 by Garaventa
Blue run Eiger Glacier to Fallboden
The work has been completed. We are looking forward to putting the blue run into operation next winter and making it available to our winter sports guests.
GGM Männlichen Railway
- Conclusion of interior work at the middle and summit station
- Completion of the façade and platform covers
- Conclusion of installation of the aerial cableway technology at the GGM valley station
- Continuation of test drives on both sections
- Commissioning of the photovoltaic system on the roof of the summit station
Info Pavilion and construction site news
The Info Pavilion at the office containers in Grindelwald Grund is open seven days a week from 08.00 – 18.00 h.
Questions or suggestions can be put into a letter box at the feedback salon or sent by e-mail to [email protected]. Those who prefer to be informed from home can visit www.jungfrau.ch/v-bahn. The next construction site coffee morning will take place on Thursday, 28 November 2019, at 9.00 h in the Info Pavilion. Participation is open to all those interested, without prior registration.
Parking situation, local bus and bus stop
The Männlichen car park is no longer available for parking. The replacement parking spaces on the south side of the Lütschine and east of the Werkhof will remain in place. The parking at Talgietli and Kilchboden can also be used. The parking is provided via a transport service. The parking fee is CHF 5 per day. There is a night-time parking ban for buses in the Talgietli car park. In the village, night parking is available on Bärplatz.
Eiger Express heavy transport traction ropes
In the night of 7/8 November 2019, the last suspension ropes for the new Eiger Express tricable gondola will be delivered by road. The heavy transport from Zweilütschinen to Grindelwald will take place between 21.00 h and 01.00 h. During this time, traffic delays and waiting times of up to 40 minutes can be expected on the road between Zweilütschinen and Grindelwald Grund. Along the affected route, posters will be set up to inform road users about the heavy transport.
