Over Christmas and the New Year, winter sports guests in Grindelwald and Wengen will benefit from a wide range of slopes. All ski areas are in continuous operation. From the coming weekend of 22 and 23 December 2018, the valley runs from Kleine Scheidegg (Mettlenpiste) and from First (Grindel) to Grindelwald will also be open.
Lauberhorn and Eiger Run
If you want to try out longest descent of the Ski World Cup before the International Lauberhorn Ski Races, you will have the chance to do so over the holidays. The route will be open from the start of the race on 27 December to the finish line.
Sledders will get their money's worth in the fast-paced Eiger Run. From 26 December to 5 January, the track which is 3.5 km long and up to 36% steep will be illuminated at night. The Wengernalp Railway takes night-time sledders from Grindelwald Grund to the starting point at the Alpiglen station. In the alpine chalets at the start and finish, the nightly adventure in the snow can be combined with a fondue stop.
Adventure and sledging pass
The Grindelwald-First ski area will start the winter sports season on 22 December just in time for the holidays. In addition to a wide range of slopes and the valley run, guests can also enjoy the First Cliff Walk and First Glider adventure attractions. In addition, there is an attractive network of winter hiking and sledging trails with views of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.
