Babbling mountain streams, crystal-clear mountain lakes, mountain villages rich in tradition and a mountain world close enough to touch. This is the Jungfrau Region: Pocket-sized Switzerland in a very confined space. The Jungfrau Region stretches from urban Interlaken across two valleys up to the eternal ice. The huge massif of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, with the glacier landscape around the Aletsch Glacier, forms the centre of the UNESCO Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch World Heritage Site up there. It is this diversity of the Jungfrau Region that captivates people from all over the world. It simply doesn’t get more Swiss than this.
This unspoilt area is magnificent
I am here with my work colleagues. We are on our annual business trip and it's quite fantastic. This panorama is so extensive. The eternal unspoilt snow is impressive.
Upwards in comfort
The railway here is extremely comfortable and perfectly suited to older people and families – much better than a cable car. There is nowhere else with such a comfortable ascent.
Total relaxation
I have seen pictures of the Schynige Platte and thought that I have to go there. The panorama is truly dazzling. The trip on the little train is a true adventure. You can relax completely.
I feel at home here
If like me, you were born and raised in Richigen, then trips to the Bernese Oberland and of course to the Schynige Platte were a matter of course for me and my parents. I have always felt at home in these mountains.
A break from everyday life
The fresh air up here is lovely. I feel lifted out of everyday life. It's truly impressive that we have this world of mountains right at our doorstep.
Suitable for children
We were here on Schynige Platte in a mere two hours from our house in Zurich. The location is suitable for children. My twelve-year-old son is having fun in the playground and I am enjoying the view across the panorama.
View over the whole region
I like our local mountain because I can quickly get to the viewing spot. I like to show our region to friends from this spot. The path up to Harder Kulm is also my Nordic walking route.
