Steam trips

It must be admitted that the steam locomotive H 2/3 5 is not particularly fast. Thankfully. Otherwise, travellers on the steam trip from Wilderswil to Schynige Platte would have no chance to discover all the details of the locomotive built in 1894. These include the handmade fittings on the coal car, for example, the original placard with the builder's details and the carefully oiled machine parts. Some have waited for this moment for a long time: the ride on the steam train only takes place four times per summer, and only 40 nostalgia fans can climb aboard. The final destination is reached in just one hour. The locomotive takes things at a comfortable pace – whoever becomes accustomed to the tempo wishes the journey would go on forever.
